  18. <p>     Who is white-hot and cool and double platinum all over?
  19. Answer: an upstart from Miami whose album To the Extreme has
  20. sold an astonishing 2.5 million copies in seven weeks. A hit
  21. in black-dominated rap, Vanilla Ice insists on keeping his real
  22. moniker to himself. Says he: "I'm from the street--that's why
  23. I don't give out my name." Four years ago, he was part of a
  24. violent neighborhood gang. After a stabbing that nearly cost
  25. him his life, he changed his ways. "I don't sound like anybody
  26. else," he says. "I have my own style, called `above ground.'
  27. There's no cursing, but I get my point across."
